Newbie Guide to the Join Form

Your Name: Pretty simple. Can be a nickname, your first name, or something totally different.

Your Age: We do prefer you be over 13, but will not say no. If you've read some of the information, you will know what you're getting into.

E-mail Address: If you don't put a valid email address, we will not waste time looking for you. :)

E-mail Addy on Page: A simple yes or no. A little link will be put on the bottom of your persona sheet if you say yes. :)

E-mail from list: If you're a current member or a lurker, you say yes. Newbie in full? No.

Current Personas: Have any personae in this club? If so, put them down. If not, you may leave this blank. Do not put personas from other clubs, please!

Name of Persona: What will your persona be called? Male riders need an honorific (like A'dellan or Br'van). Female greenriders have the option, goldriders do not. No names ending in 'th', and no puns, please! Also, try to keep away from names like Sarah, Jessica, Brian and David. ^^

Age of Persona: An apprentice must be at least 10, journeymen preferred at 16, minimum. Dragonriders must be 12 years older than their dragons. If a weyrling, 16 to graduate. Master crafters should be in their thirties.

Open Rank: Anything you saw and want? Put it here! Even if you want a specific wing for a rider, please put that here.

Location of Persona: We're in a Pass, folks. :) No holdess will be running around, no one will be living outside. Choose a spot from the drop down list, please.

Dragon (color)/Dolphin: We are not accepting bronzes from new members at this time, golds -must- be earned, no exceptions. We have a limit of five queen candidates. Dolphins are not pets, and you may not have a dragon -and- a dolphin.

Dragon/Dolphin Name: Dragon's names always end in 'th'. Dolphin's names are not. No one letter changes from any of AM's, please. We don't want to get in trouble!

Dragon/Dolphin Age: Dragons 20 and under may be native to SBW. Dolphins have no age limit, but usually are partnered at 3 or older. Dragons must be 12-20 years younger than their riders.

Pet Type: What lives on Pern can be a pet. Dragons and dolphins are not pets. We prefer you have no more than five pets per persona, and no more than three flitters, only two if one is a gold.

Flit Color: Bronzes are given out by the persona approver as he/she sees fit. You may not have two bronze firelizards. Golds are given out by the BoD, and only one gold flit per person.

Pet's Name: Anything but AM's names or anything ending in 'th. :)

Age: Flitters are preferred to be given to more mature personae. A little seven year old with a gold or bronze flit is cute, but think about when he or she wants to mate. Not pretty.

Craft Duty: We have open spots in all crafts. Healers and Harpers seem to be overdone, however, and you'll stand out a lot more with a tanner or a jeweler.

Craft Rank: Apprentices 11-16, Journeymen 17-26, Masters 27 and up. Ask before requesting a Master, for the spot may already be taken and you may not know it.

Emotional/Physical Description: Emotionally, if you persona is a psychopath, he or she will -not- Impress. No blind or deaf riders (at time of Impression) will be permitted. Other than that, almost anything goes. We do ask you do not make redheads have fiery tempers to match, and no super-sona's. No stereotypes will be permitted, so please, don't try to have a Lord Holder's daughter, who's also a Master Harper and the Senior Weyrwoman. ^^ No one likes that. They can look like anything, but try to stand out. Blondes and redheads on Pern are very uncommon, and we will -not- accept albinos or people with purple eyes.

History: Can be somewhat short, but try to hit the major parts of the persona's life. Maybe tell what their parents did, and some relationships they formed. Note that a persona will not be running out holdess or being a trader if they are under fifteen turns of age. And physical abuse will not be accepted in a persona's history, nor will any Dragonless riders without BoD approval.

Dragon's Description: Personality-wise and physical description. Golds are from a pale straw color, to a gold toned bronze and metallic. Bronzes are from almost dark gold, to nearly brown, again, metallic. Browns, blues and greens are the whole spectrum of the color, but they are -not- metallic. Also, they typically will not hate anything, and all dragon memories are short.

Pet's Description: Can be brief, but try to describe what color they are and a bit about their personality (i.e. - shimmery green sapphire, creamy eggshell white or playful and careless with a love for games)

All right, now that we've explained the sheet rather well, you can fill it out. If you don't follow the directions on this page, you'll be getting your sheet back, we promise. :) Otherwise, we hope to see you around, and thanks for your interest!
