Description: Physical: What you first notice about Jerilem
is his eyes - Jerilem has been blind from birth and will always be so. The
color is a soft grey with little of the whites showing. Jerilem is around 15
turns and therefore still growing a bit, but will most likely fill out to be
around 5'9 or so. He is not particularly muscular nor slender, but is
comfortably in between. His hair his an unkempt dusty brown. His facial
features are on the slightly good-looking side of plain, but by no means
handsome.
Emotional: Jerilem has an easy-going, casual personality and has learned to
take uncomfortable situations in stride. Jerilem is practical and doesn't
always understand showiness and flirting. He prefers to listen rather then
talk. Jerilem has a strong sense of honor and always chooses his path
carefully and sensibly. He has a good mind and a sensitive ear, both
developed by his blindness. Jerilem relies upon his fire lizard, Dancer, to
provide simple images. The close and warm bond between the two is therefore
more like that of a gold rather then a brown.
History: Not an exciting history, I'm afraid, except for his mysterious
birth. Jerilem was born to an affluent trader father. His mother was a
mystery - having taken Jerilem as an infant, the father had never exposed
the identity of the mother, not even to Jerilem himself. The relationship
between father and son was cold and formal. Jerilem found family love among
the kitchen drudges and grew up in their company. Jerilem was never trained
in any craft because of his blindness. Jerilem received his fire lizard egg
at the age of 14 and was amazed at being able to see simple images by way of
his brown fire lizard. About a year later, the entire hold was shocked when
the dragonrider came on a search and chose Jerilem as one of the Canidates.
Pet Description: Dancer - yes, a pathetic name - is a small sized, warm
brown colored fire lizard, with a small iridescant sheen, but not enough to
qualify as a bronze. Jerilem and Dancer are devoted to each other, and have
a very close and affectionate bond. The little fire lizard is most often
found curled up on Jerilem's shoulder. Dancer is friendly but protective,
and like Jerilem is sensible and not noisy.
